So the weeks task is 'finding an explanation' of the abbreviations: 'ECU', 'WS' AND 'MS'. Seemed simple enough, I figured this would definitely have something to do with computers, yeah, so, having Googled ECU, I find 'Electrical Control Unit' and think....Yes, I'm on the right track. Then I recall the heavily hinted film references from earlier and realise I'm probably far from where I'm meant to be. I then Googled 'abbreviation ECU WS MS' and was ashamed to realise that these are, of course, references to camera shots. Having done film for the last two years of highschool.....I admit for the fifth time today that I am an ignoramus. It has to be said. So the Electrical Control Unit I was so pleased about is actually an Extreme Close Up (
http://www.mediacollege.com/video/shots/extreme-closeup.html,12/06/09), and the WS and MS (which I was sure had something to do with computers. They do, I'm sure, also have correlating abbreviations in computers. I am currently doubting yet again if this is the right tangent on which to go on. It is after all a computing course (or at least it uses computers a heck of a lot). I've already been wrong a definite....four times today(watch as I inexplicably subtract a mistake. Denial is the only word for it) ...anyway, back to the shot sizing) are in fact Wide Shot (
http://www.mediacollege.com/video/shots/wide-shot.html,12/06/09) and Medium Shot (or Mid Shot) (
http://www.mediacollege.com/video/shots/mid-shot.html,12/06/09).
Referencing this new-found information is terribly hard though as I've no idea how to do that. I would need to reference. How I hate needing to reference, given that it was long forgotten information that I already kind of knew. Okay, I just hate the bother. Do I need to reference the reference site? (That be a badly designed joke. Badly designed in it's lack of humour. Moving on.) Oh well, it appears I was faster at picking it up than many but thankfully, in relation to my technological ineptitude, I'm lagging behind the rest of the group at my usual rate.... A 'History of Computing and Timeline business is also required.... :/ What's this? My Neverendingly-Helpful-Computer-Person-On-The-Right-With-Much-Information has pointed out the courses website with it's own Historical Timeline. Here it is, for your own viewing pleasure:

of Withnail and I. Because, why the heck not :]
Oh, and, um....there was a necessity for a completely unnecessary video blog :/ Watch as I attempt to not be seen in double incognito. Fun times, fun times...
Christ, I'm repulsive. I exude awkwardness and self-loathing, heh. Apologies. It looked as though the girl behind me was taping me at some point. Why couldn't I have thought of that? Next time, Girl Behind Me, next time *shakes fist*....READ THAT BOOK. Should be a movie soon :]
